For me, the tracks that are put together fluidly, capturing a moment, feel the most authentic and human. For me, house music, in all its permutations needs an element of spontaneity. How did you approach the album’s production? Did you already know where you were headed to when starting a new track? The seven-tracks release already got early support from some of the most tasteful selectors around, such as Jane Fitz, Raresh, Kai Alce, Titonton Duvante, Subb-an, Per Hammar, Djoko, Chris Stussy and many more. The release is biting, diverse, reflective and elegant. Strictly underground and dance-floor oriented, his productions cover house, techno and all the in-betweens - the sound of his tracks has always been peculiar yet constantly evolving, and the new album ‘ Simulacra’ brings it even further. The dynamic sound of Silverlining escapes easy definitions.

With a prolific career spanning from a start in the early 90s to becoming a pillar of the modern underground scene, Asad Rizvi (Silverlining’s real name) managed to stay at the top of his game for over 25 years, releasing over 150 titles under a whole spectrum of aliases. Silverlining is one of those artists we can only learn from.
